Lynne Cameron trained at Morley College London, Leeds and York Colleges of Art, and on several short courses at the Slade School of Art, London. She became a full-time artist after leaving her university professorship in Applied Linguistics in 2014. She was invited to a fellowship and artist residency at Cinepoetics, Center for Advanced Film Studies, Freie Universität Berlin, and spent two years there. Her work has been exhibited in galleries in Berlin, London, Leeds, and Scotland.
She had a short weekend residency during which she planned intensive sessions of ‘dynamic painting’, using her intuitive technique that respond to emotions and experiences through colour, form and writing. Interlaced with this, she spent time looking at, drawing and photographing natural forms (leaves, landscapes) to contribute to abstract paintings for an exhibition in London in September 2018.
